The Special Legal Counsel (and other attorneys, if any) shall perform the following minimum duties as well as those prescribed by applicable law, subject to the review and approval of the City Manager/Mayor and Council: A. Perform such duties as are prescribed by general law and ordinance; B. Defend claims assigned by the City Manager/Mayor and Council; C. File law suits on behalf of the City and defend same; D. Prepare reports and provide advice and counsel at City Manager/Mayor and Council meetings regarding issues that arise that include but are not limited to: litigation, regulations and ordinances; E. Interact closely with the City’s Administration on related legal issues and personnel matters; F. When requested by the City Manager/Mayor and Council, reply to inquiries from residents and/or commercial enterprises; G. Attend regular, special, and Executive Session meetings of the Mayor and Council.
