Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. UPHL is purchasing a QX600 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR system to perform molecular testing for wastewater surveillance. This instrument allows automatic quantification of multiple targets in the same wastewater sample. The instrument is unique for its versatility for method development (excitation and detection of up to six fluorescent dyes per droplet). Starting August 2021, UPHL has been performing SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance for the State of Utah. There is increased interest in monitoring more pathogens of concerns such as Monkeypox virus, Polio virus, Candida auris and CRE, Influenza. Besides being the gold standard for molecular wastewater testing, the availability of QX600 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System will allow us to deveop cost effective multiplex tests for the environmental monitoring of pathogens of concern. QX600 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System is also supported by CDC and APHL for test development.
