The Town of New Milford, Connecticut is soliciting sealed bids for a bridge replacement project located at Cherniske Road over West Aspetuck River in the Town of New Milford. This project generally consists of the removal of the existing steel beam superstructure and concrete abutment and wingwalls, and the installation of a new 36’x 6’ precast concrete three-sided frame. Other work includes steel pile installation, cast in place concrete wingwalls and endwalls, water handling, sedimentation control systems, roadway reconstruction, bridge rail, grading and loaming and seeding. Due to the deteriorated condition of the existing bridge, the town installed a temporary bridge on concrete block abutments. This temporary structure will require removal and salvage to the town. The work described above includes furnishing, installing and incorporating all materials and equipment into the project as well as performing or providing all labor, supervision, equipment and services unless otherwise noted within the bid documents.
