GENERAL: The City of Thomasville seeks proposals from qualified firms to deliver construction and engineering services for bank stabilization along various stream segments to include N. Hamby Creek, and Jimmy’s Creek. The city has been awarded funds for a StreamFlow Rehabilitation Assistance Program (StRAP) grant from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Funding will be used to remove debris within multiple segments. A portion of this funding will go toward streambank stabilization and engineering services. SCOPE OF SERVICES: Services will include the following A. Preparation of design/construction documents for permit approvals from required agencies for bank stabilization B. Engineering and construction services for streambank stabilization along Jimmy’s Creek and North Hamby Creek. Streambank Stabilization 1. N Hamby & Jimmy’s Creek sites require the bank stabilization within an approximate half a mile of stream. 2. Jimmy’s Creek site is in need of streambank stabilization in order to decrease sediment build up, increase current flow and prevent further flooding issues for residents. This site will require engineering design services to include streambank stabilization. 3. N Hamby Creek: This site runs through a property located on 310 Fisher Ferry St. in Thomasville. This site will require engineering design services to include streambank stabilization within a 354 ft segment if budget allows. Streambank stabilization and construction strategies should take into consideration different design approaches, nature- based solutions and project timeline. This project’s timeline requires funds to be reimbursed by December 31, 2026. Project must be complete and pass inspection by November 2026. Failure to complete the project may result in loss of funding.
