The sidewalks, curb and gutter, parking lots and drives shall be cleaned of litter, debris, trash, and weeds in concrete joints, etc. The Contractor shall edge and trim these areas and remove excess grass clippings. The work of maintaining the lawn/grass areas shall consist of mowing and leaf removal. Mowing shall consist of edging, trimming, removal, and disposal of lawn clippings. Warm-season grass shall be maintained at 3 to 4 inches high; cool season grass shall be maintained at 4 to 5 inches high. The mowing cycle to maintain the desired height shall be every 7 to 14 days during the growing season, as determined by the Engineer, depending upon weather conditions. Cleanup, mowing, litter cleanup, and edging, etc. shall be performed at least once every 21 days. All trash (paper, sticks, bottles, etc.) shall be removed from lawn areas prior to mowing the grass and every 3 weeks after the primary grass mowing season ends. After mowing or cleanup/mowing, the Contractor shall remove all clippings from the lawn and any debris, clippings or trash from sidewalks, curbs, gutters and drives. This material shall be removed from the site and disposed of at an approved landfill. During each mowing cycle, the curbs, sidewalks, and areas around fixed objects such as light standards, signs, etc. shall be edged and trimmed to provide a neat appearance. During each month of the leaf season leaves shall be raked or blown from the lawn, walks, drives, etc. and removed by the Contractor. Leaf removal shall be included as a part of the regular cleanup, mowing, trash, and debris removal work.
