The District is seeking qualified cathodic protection contractors to design and install an automatic impressed current cathodic protection system in a new 250,000 gallon, 42 foot diameter, 24 foot tall welded steel water tank. The new water tank will be located at 19850 Villa Drive, Sonora, CA 95370 and will replace the existing 126,000 gallon 126K Tank. The selected firm shall coordinate with the District’s tank manufacturer to ensure that the cathodic protection access holes are cut prior to the application of tank coatings. It is the District’s intention to have the construction of the tank occur in the Spring of 2025. The existing tank shall remain in service during construction of the new tank. The services requested are: • Design and install an automatic impressed-current cathodic protection system including but not limited to: o Automatic rectifier o Anodes o Copper-copper sulfate reference electrodes o Fasteners o Access hole covers o Startup and testing • Applicable design codes and specifications: o AWWA D104 o Specification Section 16444 – Automatic Impressed-Current Cathodic Protection System (Attachment A) o The corrosion control system shall be provided by a licensed Cathodic Protection System Contractor (State of California) who shall have a licensed Corrosion Engineer (State of California) or a National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) International Certified Cathodic Protection Specialist supervising the work. • Rectifier shall be mounted inside an existing pump building, approximately 40 feet from the tank shell...
