The Department of Administration, State Procurement Services Division, is considering a request from the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), to award a Sole Source contract to Axon Enterprise, Inc. for body cameras, accessories, and software. The determination of this Sole Source purchase is based on the following requirements: MDT Motor Carrier Services (MCS) currently uses Axon Enterprise, Inc’s in-car video system and body-worn camera system. Both systems offload data wirelessly to the Axon Enterprise Inc.’s cloud-based evidence storage. The in-car video system does this through the in-car network; the body-worn camera system does so through the in-car network or an MDT Wi-Fi network.
