5.1.1. Contractors shall provide forestry mulching and land/brush clearing services at Lake Tawakoni State Park. Service includes cutting or mulching all understory trees and brush < 9” diameter at breast height within the 38.3-acre project area Attachment 1- Map of Lake Tawakoni State Park. 5.1.2. Mulched debris left at ground-level should be no larger than 3” in diameter and should no longer be attached to the stump or tree bole. Additional specifications may be included for future projects not specifically identified in this scope. 5.1.3. Contractor shall immediately clean up any debris on trails or roads. 5.1.4. All trees and brush less than eight (9) inches in diameter at breast height shall be mulched unless identified as a leave tree by TPWD. Orange flagging will be the standard for marking “leave” trees. All down and standing dead vegetation < 12 inches in diameter shall be mulched. Additional specifications may be included for future projects not specifically identified in this scope. 5.1.5. Contractor(s) will be required to use a forestry mulching machine and mulching head with hydraulic capabilities to mulch to the ground trees and brush up to 12” at stump level and 9” Diameter at Breast High (DBH) including species such as oaks, yaupon, black gum, sweetgum, swamp privet, green ash, juniper, mesquite, honey locust and elm, etc. 5.1.6. Trees greater than 9” in diameter shall be protected and not damaged from mulching operations.
