a. Perform all work necessary and required to review and evaluate all challenged tax assessment. b. Work closely with the Tax Assessor to review and evaluate all challenged tax assessments. c. Work closely with the Township Tax Attorney in order to represent the Township in any litigation, including trials and/or hearings before the Tax Court of New Jersey or the Essex County Board of Taxation. Litigation strategy may be based on decisions and determinations rendered by the Tax Assessor. d. Maintain all required reports, analysis, data and documentation relating to the duties of the Township Appraiser. Upon termination of services with the Township, the Appraiser shall forthwith surrender to the Township all such property and furnish written consent to substitution of his/her successor in any pending actions or proceedings. e. Provide general advice and counseling as directed by the Mayor and Council when requested.
