Attend all Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings and hearings: a. Counsel the PB and ZBA on issues pertaining to Municipal Land Use Law as well as the City of Trenton’s Ordinances, b. On an as-needed basis, swear in new members that are appointed to the Boards, c. As needed, provide training to new members, d. Give legal insight on new cases that pertain to court cases thatmay impact the City of Trenton’s Master Plan and/or ZoningOrdinance 2. Prepare and memorialize the resolutions of all PB and ZBA meetings, Conference Sessions, and Public Hearings: a. The resolutions of any meeting should be used for: i. Recording decisions, ii. Giving insight into why decisions were made iii. Etc. 3. Provide an electronic version of the resolutions to the City of Trenton staff for files and subsequent posting on the City’s website for public access, 4. Prosecute and defend litigation and appeals on behalf of theBoards, 5. Advise Planning Staff and the Zoning Officer on matters of the legal jurisdiction of cases as needed, 6. Must be responsive to telephone calls and email inquiries, 7. Once a year, conduct a special briefing for PB and ZBA Members of any new land use law cases and State legislation relevant to city planning, land use development, Board development, etc.; and 8. Fulfill such duties as the Board Chairpersons may specify or are requested by the City of Trenton Planning staff or Zoning Officer. 9. Must have a clear understanding of the Municipal Land Use Law pertaining to 40:55D-31 Review of capital projects as part of Article #4. 10. Expert knowledge of the City’s Land Development Ordinance.
