The inspection and witnessing of tests of elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, stairway chair lifts and wheelchair lefts. A. Perform routine, periodic and final acceptance tests, as specified in N.J.A.C. 5:23-12 and any existing local ordinances; B. Review plans for the purpose of determining compliance with all applicable elevator subcodes; C. Record data from such tests and inspections on U.C.C. forms, forward any reports to the building owner or his agent and supply one copy to the Construction Official’s Office; D. Issue the standard U.C.C. “Notice of Violation” for any device found not to be in compliance with applicable codes, as required by N.J.A.C. 5:23-2.30; E. Re-inspect any facility, once violations are abated and issue a supplemental inspection report to the building owner or his agent. A copy will also be supplied to the Construction Official’s office; F. Assist building owners with registering their devices with the Department, as required by N.J.A.C. 5:23-12.4; G. Carry liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00; H. Upon full payment of all fines and fees, the Agency through the Elevator Subcode Official, shall, in the name of the City of Garfield, produce the Certificate of Compliance for signing and mailing by the Construction Official.
