A. Provide legal analysis and advise on matters related to employment law, human resources and employee relations including but not limited to: • Employment policies and employment manuals • Compliance with FLSA overtime standards, including exempt classification issues • Claims of harassment, discrimination or retaliation • Responding to requests for reasonable accommodation under the ADA • Discipline and discharge of employees • Issue relating to Borough’s personnel policies and Memorandums of Understanding with existing bargaining groups B. Advise the Borough on compliance with all State and Federal employment related laws and regulations. C. Consult on issues concerning various aspects of employment law D. Consult on laws and regulations of public employee’s retirement plans, Police and Fire Retirement Plans as well as handle claims under both Retirement Systems E. Advise and represent the Borough in negotiations including Memorandums of Understanding with bargaining groups. Prepare both draft and final contract language. F. On behalf of the Borough, respond to Public Employee Relations Commissions (PERC) complaints. G. Represent the Borough’s interests in grievance appeals and disciplinary proceedings
