Furnish and deliver liquid ferric chloride to various wastewater treatment plants of the Division of Wastewater Treatment and Disposal, Department of Environmental Services, City and County of Honolulu, Honolulu, Hawaii. The Contractor shall provide the product as specified herein. Liquid ferric chloride will be used to chemically enhance the settling of sewage solids in the facilities’ primary clarifiers. Technical/Performance Requirements. A. Liquid Ferric Chloride Specifications. 1. Formula: FeCl3; 2. Physical State: Liquid; 3. Concentration: 40% to 45%; 4. Boiling Point: 255 degrees Fahrenheit; 5. Freezing Point: 10 degrees Fahrenheit at 40% concentration; 6. Specific Gravity (H2O = 1): 1.42 to 1.48; 7. Free Acid: Not to exceed 0.5% as HC1; 8. Insoluble Matter: Not to exceed 0.5%; 9. Arsenic: Not to exceed 5 milligram / liter; 10. Cadmium: Not to exceed 1 milligram / liter
