The scope of the project is to develop and execute demonstration activities to inform the City of Northport’s Safety Action Plan. Specifically, traffic calming and pedestrian improvement demonstration activities of a temporary nature. The goal of the Action Plan is to develop a holistic, well-defined strategy to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries for all users. The Safety Action Plan must include all the components laid out by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) in the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant notice of funding availability. Services to be included in the contract will include but are not limited to: Site selection for demonstration activities (traffic calming and pedestrian crossings) using data previously collected by the City of Northport Assistance with procurement of materials for demonstration activities Evaluation of site conditions and behaviors prior to, during, and after demonstration activities Collection of data at all sites Reporting of data on a regular basis to identified City personnel Overall project management Updates to the City of Northport’s existing Safety Action Plan using data collected as a part of this project
