The Project consists of the demolition of the existing and construction of the new pier at Flagler Beach. 1. Demolition of the existing timber pier remains as shown in the contract documents, excluding the westernmost section (approximately 100 feet) of the timber pier that will be reinforced. Of the portion of the existing pier to be demolished, the personalized timber deck planks will be carefully removed, preserved, and transported to a location within Flagler Beach (near the pier) and turned over to the City. The remainder of the demolished pier will be properly disposed of. 2. Timber structural reinforcement and repair, which will be required for approximately the first 100 feet of the existing, remaining timber pier. 3. Construction of a temporary steel construction trestle that spans across the dune, beach, and surf zone to a distance of approximately 700 feet offshore as necessary to complete construction of the new pier s shown in the contract documents in waters approximately zero to 15 feet deep. 4. Construction of a new ocean pier with concrete piles, caps, and prestressed stringers along with timber breakaway deck panels and timber handrails. 5. Procurement and installation of tensile shade structures and other pier deck components, including (but not limited to) benches, tables, and fish cleaning stations, fire extinguisher cabinets, and signage as shown in the contract documents...
