The vendor is to provide respirator training and respirator fit-testing services to employees which include: • Training for employees required to wear respirators in the proper selection and use, maintenance, capabilities, and limitations of respirators in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134(k). Training must be effective, comprehensive, and understandable. • Provide quantitative respirator fit-testing (29 CFR 1910.134(f)(1)) using the Portacount (or equivalent) fit test system for North, MSA, or 3M full-face air purifying respirators or N95/ P100 particulate respirator if the machine has the capability to do so., and qualitative fittesting for N95 or P100 particulate respirators and North, MSA, or 3M half face respirators in accordance with (29 CFR 1910.1001). All testing is to be completed by an O.S.H.A. authorized individual. • It is the responsibility of the vendor to train and fit-test according to specifications herein. The MCPS shall be responsible for ensuring employees are medically cleared to wear a respirator.
