An advocate who will: 1. Provide information regarding available substance abuse services to clients in Camden County and the surrounding geographical area. 2. Collect client demographic information in an effort to assist in determining available resources and funding options. 3. Utilize nationally recognized best practice evidence-based screening tools to determine if clients are in need of an in-depth assessment. Such screening shall include, but are not limited to, the use of CAGE, CASSIE, and MAST screening tools. 4. Act as a communication link and advocate between the court and the client to include tracking the client care from the intake process to completion, whenever possible. 5. When requested and if directed by the Chief of Police or designee, coordinate or assist with development and facilitation of a support group for loved ones of those suffering from addiction. 6. When requested and if directed by the Chief of Police or designee, participate in community relations and outreach events and/or presentations to community members. 7. Seek out and apply for, upon approval of the Chief of Police or designee, relevant grants and other sources of funding for the implementation or maintenance of substance abuse prevention, education, and rehabilitation services. 8. Provide written reports, as requested, by the Chief of Police or designee containing statistical and demographic information relevant to the program(s) in Winslow.
