The project removes electro-mechanical relays and installs new electronic relaysin all locations, and current transformers in some locations, as specified herein. The new relays shall match the protective functions of the existing relays in each affected circuit breaker cubicle. The relays will also output data to the University Facility Services’ (UFS) metering network. C. Most existing current transformers and all existing potential transformers are to be re-used. Several relays will have new current transformers added. D. The project will add remote open/close functionality to the existing vacuum circuit breakers. E. The project will provide complete, up-to-date relay and control wiring diagrams (in .dwg and .pdf format) for each switchgear, showing existing and new components, terminals, and wiring. Wiring diagrams shall carry the designations on the existing cubicles. Some shop drawings for the existing switchgear are available in .pdf format (CRB 5kV and 15kV, by Square D in 1990 and 1990), but the drawings may be incomplete and may not have been updated after original construction. Other drawings (BioTech switchgear) are available in both Autocad .dwg format and in .pdf format, but the drawings have not been verified to be accurate. The Contractor will field-verify and update the drawings for all switchgear affected by this project.
