Specifications for 202 acres to be hand-planted with longleaf: Must use containerized Montane longleaf pine seedlings. Spot plant where needed, approximately 200 trees per acre. Seedlings are to be planted between December 1, 2024, and March 1, 2025. Vendor to provide seedlings and planting labor. Vendor to provide proper care and handling of the seedlings while they are in the vendor’s custody. Plugs should stay intact when extracted and during handling, with no loss of potting medium, and should never be allowed to dry out. Plugs should be no less than 1.3 inches diameter, 4.5 inches long, and 6 cubic inches in volume. Seedlings should have a root collar diameter no less than 0.25”. Top of plug to be slightly exposed above the soil surface.
