The Consultant’s scope of services will include the following. 1. Perform Preliminary Review/Field Investigation of Existing Conditions a) Obtain and review available documentation, including, but not limited to: State inspection reports; 2019 Town-Wide Bridge/Culvert assessment report; and any Town drawings. (Refer to Exhibit C - Pages from 2019 Town-Wide Bridge/Culvert and Assessment Report pertaining to Kent Road Bridge. Full report available upon request); b) Visit the Bridge to conduct relevant field investigations to verify prior inspection reports and inspect to see if there are any other defects present; c) Conduct survey noting all relevant existing conditions (topographical, utilities, rights-of-way, natural and built structures, etc. within project limits); d) Identify and flag limits of wetlands within project limits as defined by federal, state, and local environmental requirements; e) Conduct structural load rating of the existing Bridge to determine the structure’s current load carrying capacity according to CTDOT standards; f) Compile list of abutting property owners. g) The Town anticipates that the following will need to be replaced or repaired: • Areas of spalling, scaling, erosion, cracking, efflorescence, exposed rebar or hollow areas in abutments and wingwalls, end blocks; • Concrete and waterproof membrane over beams in bridge deck • Bridge rail and approach guiderails; • HMA wearing surface, joint seal, and expansion joints...
