The proposed project will improve storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, and transportation infrastructure primarily along E Stephens Street, between Park Avenue and Georgia Avenue. Drainage improvements will include new inlets along E Stephens Street, new, larger drainage pipes to convey storm water runoff currently collected on the properties and roadway of E. Stephens Street to a proposed detention pond at the southeast corner of E Stephens Street and Georgia Avenue, which will outfall to an existing drainage system on the southwest corner of E Stephens Street and Georgia Avenue. For water facility improvements, all of the existing asbestos-cement and galvanized water mains along E. Stephens Street are to be replaced with an 8-inch ductile iron pipe water line from Park Avenue to Georgia Avenue. For sewer facility improvements, the 8-inch terracotta sewer main from Park Avenue to Georgia Avenue along E. Stephens Street is to be replaced with a new 8-inch ductile iron pipe sewer main. Transportation improvements will include a new 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of E Stephens Street, along with resurfacing of the roadway.
