The base bid for this project aims to connect Mill Street and the unique Old Town Mill with the project area by introducing bike and pedestrian multi-use trail. Improvements along State Pier Road will involve constructing a new section of sidewalk and a small pocket park at the intersection of Mill Street and State Pier Road. The park will provide an area for recreation and a place to view the brook. Next to the proposed park will be the access to the proposed multi-use trail that will grant access to the brook, offering potential recreation opportunities within the vegetated corridor. The section of multi-use trail that running along Briggs Brook will end at the intersection of State Pier Road and Crystal Avenue, where intersection improvements are proposed to provide access to the existing playground located at the corner of State Pier Road. Fulton Park will undergo renovations to revitalize the space including enhanced bike and pedestrian access, parking for existing playground and a pedestrian bridge to connect the northern section of the park with the southern section. Southern section will have new sidewalks and stairs, and will ultimately connect the Old Town Mill to Fulton Park.
