SCOPE: Project will consist of planting Ultradwarf Bermudagrass sprigs on 100,000 square feet of existing golf course greens, and the replacement of the immediate 5’ of the sod collars (28,200 square feet of sod) surrounding each green at Barren River State Park Golf Course in Lucas Kentucky. MATERIALS: SPRIGS: 1. Sprigs are to be certified Tifeagle Ultradwarf Bermuda grass. No variety combinations will be allowed. 2. Sprigs must be grown and harvested from a sprig field with a sand-based soil. 3. Sprigs must be high-quality and weed free. Only sprigs with excellent vigor and with a uniform blend of stolons and rhizomes will be accepted. 4. Designated Parks personnel must be permitted to inspect the sprig field prior to harvest for this project. Contractor to coordinate field inspection date with designated Parks personnel at least two weeks prior to anticipated harvest date. 5. Sprig fields used for harvest to be treated with Lexicon Intrinsic Fungicide at the high label rate (21 ounces per acre) two times. 28 days prior to harvest and again 5 days prior to harvest to reduce the possibility of the transport of plant pathogens and to protect the planted sprigs during the first 2 weeks after planting. 6. Sprigs to be harvested and sealed in plastic in boxes, in a refrigerated truck or other method approved in advance by Project Manager for transport to maintain optimum viability. Boxes to be transported to golf course and moved from truck to multiple strategic locations around the golf course to be opened for sprig planting. 7. Designated Parks personnel will be on-site during installation to inspect all materials prior to planting and will have the right to reject any material deemed not to be of adequate quality. 8. All sprigs shall be planted within 48 hours following harvest to ensure viability. 9. Storage of plant material after arrival will not be acceptable. SOD: 1.
