The City of Lakeland is requesting qualifications from certified contractors for the purpose of awarding various maintenance, repair, refurbishment, construction and equipment replacement of physical and electronic life safety projects, and security alarm systems, associated with the City of Lakeland. The responsive firm will furnish all parts, materials, equipment, labor and supervision as necessary to calibrate, maintain, construct, and install the assigned repair, refurbishment, and or replacement of life safety systems and security systems projects. The responsive firm will supply technical and programming services for the purposes of maintaining and optimizing various life safety databases and operating systems within the City of Lakeland. . Repairs/Corrective Maintenance: In the event of equipment failure, the contractor will provide the supervision, labor, and equipment necessary to return the affected system(s) to normal operation. The contractor will also provide the necessary replacement materials and parts. The contractor is expected to respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to be on-site with a trained technician within two (2) hours after being notified of a critical need, within two (2) business days for non-critical needs in accordance with the terms of the contract. Critical and non-critical issues will be at the discretion of the City of Lakeland. 2. Preventive Maintenance: The contractor will provide a breakdown of recommended PM activities and schedule for City of Lakeland’s approval. Per City of Lakeland Requests. 3. Renewal and Replacement: If as a result of either corrective or preventive maintenance the contractor discovers deficiencies, and the correction or resolution of such deficiencies require a level of effort or expenditure beyond the task specified and authorized in the work order, the contractor shall submit to the City of Lakeland a proposal for the additional task necessary for work order amendment consideration. Provision of materials and parts: The contractor is expected to provide the necessary materials and replacement parts for both corrective and preventive maintenance. The City of Lakeland may at its option provide parts and consumables from its own inventory for the contractor installation. Asset Inventory and Database: The contractor will create and maintain, in a format acceptable to the City of Lakeland, a database of all equipment including recommended spare parts covered by this contract. Definitions, Identification conversations, and an initial list of fire alarm system components will be provided by the City of Lakeland: the contractor will verify all asset data provided by the City of Lakeland and confirm its accuracy. The contractor is also expected to add to, delete from, or modify any system asset data provided by the City of Lakeland. The database will remain the property of City of Lakeland. 4. The contractor shall assist in document review, construct, furnish, and install all fire alarm and associated equipment as specified to perform the intended function on an as required basis. Work shall include the following: all labor, materials and equipment to complete the specifications; manufacturing and factory tests; delivery to site; programming; interfacing with all existing alarms, access control; calibration; installation; system start up services; training; and incidentals required to completely furnish and install fire alarm equipment for the City of Lakeland. 5. The contractor shall supply technical and programming services as required to troubleshoot and optimize City of Lakeland’s existing fire alarm and security alarm systems.
