The feasibility study should evaluate: x Costs, opportunities, and benefits of establishing a public URI college of medicine that features a graduate MD program. x Current access to primary medical care in Rhode Island, the available level(s) of service to meet that need, the current medical educational opportunities in Rhode Island, and the gap between the educational opportunities, the current level(s) of service, and the identified need. x A market analysis on the financial viability of a URI college of medicine, including an assessment of local, regional, and national competition. x The community and economic impact of establishing a public medical school in Rhode Island. x Development of programmatic models, including a mix of traditional four-year programs and a 7-year accelerated program model, as well as models that provide reduced tuition for agreements to remain in the state to practice for a specified number of years (or other models as may be suggested by the consultant).
