The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) is requesting bids for invasive plant control services on the Edwards Bottomlands, Alligator Lake, Big Pine, Branford Bend, Falmouth Springs, Hankins, High Springs Wellfield, Lake Alto, Lindsey, Nature Coast Regional Wellfield, Peacock Slough, Santa Fe Swamp, Seven Bridges, Steinhatchee Rise, Stephen Foster State Park, Sugar Creek, Suwannee Springs, Turkey Island, White Springs and Withlacoochee Quail Farms tracts in Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, and Suwannee Counties. Additional work areas with similar conditions may be identified and added to the scope of work. Work will be done to help control and eradicate invasive plant species on the identified treatment areas and facilitate the natural community restoration and maintenance goals identified in the District’s Land Management Plan. This work will be a follow-up to initial treatments in some areas and is required on areas that have high density and/or persistent infestations.
