The purpose of this solicitation is to solicit responses from qualified design/build organizations for the design and construction of the CREW (Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed) Bird Rookery Replacement (Project). This progressive Design-Build project involves performing the design (Phase 1), followed by complete replacement (Phase 2) of the existing 1,400 linear foot boardwalk with a new structure that ensures both structural integrity and improved public accessibility and safety while maintaining the current footprint and alignment. The Contractor shall incorporate a pile foundation system suitable for the construction limitations of the environment, and the boardwalk shall be designed and constructed for an expected 25-year lifespan. The Contractor shall use marine-grade lumber for the beams, stringers, joists, and railings, and composite rail caps and decking boards. The railings shall be screened with black vinyl-coated fence fabric. The Contractor shall also provide comparable shade areas, with exposed fastener metal roofs and seating benches with composite decking.
