Regardless of LOT A or B, Contractor shall abide by the following: Access to Park, Timeline Work shall be carried out during regular business hours (9am-6pm), Mon-Friday, weekends optional with advanced notice to Park Manager subject to approval. If the approved date/time is not met due to weather hazards the contractor will be responsible for making up the services within 24 hours weather permitting and with agreement from Park Staff. General Requirements All work must be completed in such a way as to protect existing architectural features from damage. Protect all adjacent architectural features including but not limited to window glass, brick, unpainted roof framing, hardware, etc. removal or alteration features other than those listed in these specifications must be approved in advance by the SCPRT Procurement and Park Staff. If any condition exists that the contractor feels will adversely affect the acceptability of his or her work, then the contractor shall notify the SCPRT Representative in writing prior to commencing that portion of the work, stating conditions considered unsatisfactory and recommendations for rectifying the problems. Safety on the job is to be emphasized. Work shall comply with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations. Hazardous areas shall be delineated with hazard tape to prevent visitors from entering areas below work area. If poor weather conditions (rain, extreme cold) prevent the Contractor from working, Contractor shall notify the SCPRT Representative and the timeframe can be extended based on the agreed upon number of days. This must be documented via a change order to the contract. Grounds, shrubbery and gardens shall be adequately protected against damage from work in progress. Contractor shall be responsible for all cleanup and repair of damages caused by work. Quality Assurance Maintain experienced full-time supervisor(s) on Project Site during all times that material removal, installation, and cleanup is in progress. Supervisors shall not be changed during project except for causes beyond the control of the firm, and with prior approval from SCPRT. Exercise extreme care to prevent materials from being spattered on surfaces which are not to be included in the project. Housekeeping During and After Work At the end of each work day, contractor shall ensure that the work site is left in a safe and neat condition, and that any job-related debris is packaged and stored until it can be removed. SCPRT is not responsible for tools or contractor owned items stored onsite during work but will provide a location vendor can store items if needed. At completion of project the contractor is responsible for all cleanup of debris and removal of any debris, containers, tools and equipment offsite. Contractor must leave worksite in neat and clean condition, as found at beginning of job. Licenses, Permits, Insurance All costs for required licenses, permits, and insurance shall be borne by the contractor and secured by the contractor. Regulations and Standards The work shall comply with all laws, ordinances and regulations of all legally constituted authorities having jurisdiction over any part of this work. These requirements supplement the specifications and shall take precedence in case of conflict. All work shall be performed and completed in a thorough workmanlike and professional manner in accordance with best modern practices, regardless of any omissions from the attached specifications and/or drawings. Contractors Responsibilities After award but prior to start of work meet with SC PRT staff to plan course of action for project completion. Provide procedures including, but not limited to, the following: Construction schedule, what areas will be worked on first, etc. Verify availability of materials, Contractor’s personnel, identification of SCPRT’s Representative, equipment, and facilities needed to make progress and avoid delays. Materials, material application, sequencing. Review of any awarded bid options. Safety, especially visitor safety during project. Contractor must obtain approval of work schedule by SC PRT Park Staff representative prior to start of work. Contractor is responsible for using safety precautions to ensure that their employees, and anyone who may come within the work perimeter, will not be injured. This may include, but not be limited to, the use of appropriate barricades, signs, safety harnesses and equipment, and personnel. Contractor shall assume full responsibility for the protection of all shrubbery, utilities, and buildings. Contractor shall carefully support and protect all such shrubbery and utilities from injury of any kind. At their expense, contractor shall repair any damage resulting from the contractor’s operations that are deemed harmful by SCPRT staff. Contractor will assume liability for damage or loss resulting from the wrongful acts and/or negligence of his employees while they are on the premises.
