The Town of Rhodhiss has been awarded grant funding from NCDEQ to complete collection system repairs of know defective assets to reduce the impact of inflow/infiltration (I/I) to make critical components of the wastewater system more reliable. The proposed work to address known defective assets includes replacing 531 LF of 6” clay lines with 8” PVC; replace a broken cleanout wye that is taking groundwater, replacing an outside drop tee that has infiltration, rehab pf one manhole and the replacement of another that have constant infiltration, and replacing 25 taps and service lines within sewer easements or Town rights-of-way. The proposed work to address critical components includes: 1) improve two pump stations (Market Basket PS and Airport-Rhodhiss Road PS) by replacing pumps, guide rails, brackets, and piping, and by replacing electrical supports with all-weather rack with aluminum hood to protect the equipment and personnel, and (2) provide a generator at two pump stations (Airport-Rhodhiss PS and Ray Childers School PS) for emergency backup (power reliability).
