Furnishing, placing, and bracing 10 steel beams next to lower capacity timber girders at various girder locations throughout the two timber structures. Place steel beams adjacent to exterior timber girders. Shore up steel beams with wood blocks and/or steel plate shims until the steel beam supports the wooden deck. Laterally brace the steel beams at each end and 1/3 points along the length of the beam with steel or wood blocking/bracing. Remove and reset the guardrail post anchor rods for the purpose of placing steel beams adjacent to reduced capacity exterior timber girders. Remove existing blocking and cross bracing prior to placement of steel beams. Drill two holes through the web of the steel beams at each rail post location to accommodate the upper anchor rods. The lower anchor rods will be below the new steel beam. Modify rail post anchor rod blocking between the steel beam and the interior timber girder. Remove the blocking and cross bracing of the interior timber girder and place a steel beam adjacent to the interior low-capacity timber girder. Shore up the steel beam with wood blocks and/or steel shims until steel beam supports the timber deck. Laterally brace the steel beam at each end and 1/3 points along the length of the beam with wood or steel blocking/bracing.
