a. Provide traffic control in accordance with NCDOT Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices b. Locate and mark all utilities in the vicinity of the proposed work c. Locate each hydrant and valve or position where hydrant is or is supposed to be situated d. Remove concrete sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter and/or asphalt as needed e. Uncover hydrant valve as necessary to access valve box and valve f. Remove soil, debris and water from valve box g. Test operation of valve and replace if valve is inoperable h. Replace valve box or adjust valve box to final grade as required i. Remove existing hydrants, install new hydrants at the locations listed herein j. Replace inoperable valves k. Acceptance testing l. Perform site restoration, asphalt and concrete repair, compaction, final grading, seeding and mulching, etc. as necessary
