The Office of Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) / Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) / Viral Hepatitis (VH) is housed within the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), its mission is to improve health equity, physical and behavioral health, and safety, healthy living and well-being for everyone in Colorado. The Office of STI/HIV/VH provides high quality services, innovative public health practice, and community partnerships to disrupt health inequities. This health project serves to reduce new cases of syphilis by screening for and identifying syphilis in persons presenting to the Emergency Department. The local safety net hospital system will implement a program to increase syphilis testing and centralize management of results in the Adult Emergency Department (ED) for persons entering these facilities. The project benefits individuals at risk of acquiring syphilis through increasing early identification of syphilis, access to treatment, and referrals to prenatal care services. This project will reduce the risk and burden of syphilis transmission between the priority populations. This project is being funded to address the increasing rates of syphilis in Colorado. The purpose of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to obtain competitive bids from qualified Offerors to provide screening for syphilis to CDPHE.
