provide cultural resource and archaeological management services related to projects undertaken at the UC any and all UC Davis properties while meeting stringent budget and schedule goals. Typical projects may cover the following areas: planning, surveying, monitoring, response during ground-disturbing activities associated with capital improvement projects, and other activities in assistance to staff during implementation and maintenance of the university lands. Relevant qualifications shall include extensive and proven experience in archaeological resource management, preferably in a University environment. Firms must demonstrate their history in meeting project budgets and schedules and their ability to provide effective and experienced support during the planning and construction phase of a project including in the following areas: Expertise in California prehistoric and historic archaeology. Proven experience with CEQA and Section 106 compliance. Experience working in collaboration with Native American tribes in California. Demonstrated ability to perform archaeological monitoring, testing, and report writing. The majority of the work will be authorized by Design and Construction Management, Campus Planning and Environmental Stewardship, Facilities and Real Estate Services on an as-needed basis. Work may include, but not limited to, the following: Performing and reporting on archaeological resource surveys; archaeological pre-construction presence/absence testing; archaeological and construction monitoring; providing archaeological pre-construction training to construction crews; Native American consultation and coordination, and other interest groups; providing CEQA support for archaeological resource analyses; developing mapping, reporting, management plans, and database tracking for archaeological projects; and developing and implementing feasible and effective mitigation measures for archaeological resources, etc.
