1. Review and assess the condition of current facilities, including the identification of both physical and operational issues that do not meet modern standards. 2. Identify and assess current space use by conducting interviews with relevant staff to gather information about current use of the spaces and future needs, potential growth in staffing and storage needs, etc. These assessment meetings should take place on-site. Considerations should include a. Operational efficiency b. Staff and visitor safety & security c. Access and circulation to and from as well as within the building d. Quantity and type of specific space needed currently e. Building limitations to use and/or access to technology f. Visitor and staff parking: quantity, accessibility, and security 3. Create a comprehensive plan for space allocation and facility usage that will address the needs for the next 10- 20 years, taking into consideration the considerable population growth the County is experiencing. The plan must lay out the most efficient, effective and functional plan for space needed by staff for the services provided. 4. Provide recommendations for future space requirements of the county that addresses meeting spaces, staff work spaces, restrooms, storage, both employee and public parking, and other needs discovered during the assessment.
