Huntsville Utilities seeks professional engineering services for the development of a Master Plan for the next 10 years of HU’s electric system to include updating the electric system models. At a minimum the Engineer will be expected to develop expected population growth and electric demand volumes along with required transmission and distribution system improvements to supply the increased growth. In addition, the Engineer will update and deliver a new model of HU’s electric system based on current peak day demand as well as a model for required system Improvements. The electric models being used by HU are Synergi and ETAP. The HU electric system currently serves over 233,332 customers utilizing over 2,900 miles of overhead lines (12-, 25- and 46-kV), and over 1,500 miles of underground lines (12- and 25-kV). The distribution system is modeled in Synergi, and the 46-kV system is modeled in ETAP. This data will be available. System load data is available from HU’s SCADA records. HU’s consumption data is maintained in SAP; this data may be available depending on staffing constraints.
