Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Full Depth Reclamation (FDR): Reclaim 0.26 miles of roadway on Balsam Lane and Hemlock Drive using the Full Depth Reclamation process. The contractor must hire a licensed North Carolina Geotechnology Firm to assess the subgrade and incorporate the existing roadway material. The final structure includes 2” Type S 9.5 B surface course, 8” I-19.0 C base/intermediate course on a 6” Portland cement treated base. • Patching and 1” Overlay: For the remaining 1.46 miles, patching will be a minimum of 5” with a 1” overlay. Patch locations will be determined by City Inspection Staff, and materials will be paid by tonnage placed. The work includes 9,112.84 SY of S 9.5 B Asphalt Surface Course, 723.32 tons of I-19.0 C Asphalt Intermediate Course, and 300 SY of milling for transitions. • Shoulder Rehabilitation: Shoulder grading will create a positive slope away from the new pavement structure with new stone placement.
