The Community-University Health Care Center (CUHCC) is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) within the University's Office of Academic Clinical Affairs (OACA). The clinic provides comprehensive primary care including Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health Care and Social Services and provides care to a diverse patient population and serves approximately 9,500 patients in 46,500 annual visits. They are supported by over 220 full time staff and approximately 170 students, residents and other learners are trained at this clinic annually. The existing CUHCC clinic building was constructed in 1990 and comprises 18,290 GSF with an additional 2,096 GSF of clinic space operating in a detached modular building located on site. The existing facility conditions are a challenge to clinic services, functions and resources due to the constraints of space and existing systems in the building. The building has surpassed its useful life and a renovation was not deemed viable. CUHCC and the University are pursuing a new building on the existing property that will house the future CUHCC program. The new CUHCC building will be designed in accordance with Minnesota's B3 Initiative. The primary objectives of new CUHCC clinic are: • Create a state-of-the-art facility that centers on patient, family, staff, community and student experience that supports • Create a vibrant place that connects with and enhances their community • Optimize behavioral health services • Provide holistic care and support social determinates of health with the engagement of community partners • Promote organizational and environmental sustainability
