Cumberland County Solid Waste Management intends to improve the Wilkes Road Recycling Facility operations with installation of a covered maintenance structure and improvements to the compost site. The proposed structure is approximately 2,400 SF of area and shall be a pre-manufactured metal building with partially covered sides (varies). A portion of the building area will be surfaced with concrete while remaining area will be surfaced with compacted stone. The foundation for the structure is proposed as helical anchors by the Contractor. The geotechnical evaluation is attached. The compost site improvements include import of soil for compacted fill to bring the site up to finish lines and grades. The Contractor will need to coordinate efforts with site operations to minimize delays. The soil import is anticipated to be approximately 25,000 cubic yards with an anticipated undercut of approximately 15,000 cubic yards.
