The consultant shall evaluate and benchmark RIC’s space types and associated square footage with at least 3 other agreed-upon peer institutions. RIC would like to document how our physical and outdoor spaces compare to other institutions, and what actions are needed to remain competitive. Examples include, but are not limited to, recreation space available to all students, research space, event spaces, outdoor spaces, parking, classrooms, dining facilities, housing, etc. RIC has detailed space program for our buildings that will be provided to the successful design firm. The firm will work closely with the Provost and Deans, as well as other campus stakeholders to understand academic program and research along with the Strategic Compass to ensure that they are effectively addressed in the Physical Master Plan. Review current and planned course schedules from college records office and determine utilization of classrooms and other teaching spaces (labs, lecture halls, etc.). Review departmental spaces and utilization of space in non-teaching/learning spaces.
