Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Public Works, Road Divisions I & II, is in the process of purchasing high· intensity traffic cones - specifically used to identify various road related safety hazards in the travel way. This specification shall cover the requirements for a 28 inch, 7 pound cone. The cone shall have a 6 inch and 4 inch reflective collar. Traffic cones must meet the requirements listed below and engineered to meet 2024 Fifteenth Edition CA- MUTCD specifications, including NCHRP-350 and approved for highway use. The entire -cone is to be colored high intensity solid orange or lime green fluorescent constructed as a one piece injection molded design with square base and rounded corners. Cones shall have a smooth, non-porous exterior surface manufactured of 100% poly vinyl chloride compound UV inhibitors. The wall thickness shall be a minimum of .075". The inside diameter at the top shall be a minimum of 1" and the inside diameter of the base shall be a minimum of 10-½". Cones shall be constructed so that the cones from any given shipment will nest and stack easily with each other.
