This project serves to ensure Colorado’s public health infrastructure has the tools to manage disease control services around the state. CDPHE seeks to implement an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system that automates registration, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for disease control services such as vaccinations, testing, and treatment. The EMR system will provide the ability to manage each step of disease control services clinics. The EMR system features should allow for online scheduling, patient information gathering and management, real-time and bidirectional interoperability with the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS) and any other necessary public health information systems, inventory management, and reporting capabilities. Using an EMR system will ensure events are conducted safely, will improve attendance and increase uptake of vaccinations, and other countermeasures.
