1.) Prep work: a. Prep and re-paint all pieces and walls of the exterior structure. i.e. (siding, posts or post bases, window trim, fascia or cornice molding, door molding, corner trim, soffit and so on). b. Any loose caulking must be removed or scraped before re-sealing. Must use an approved siliconized latex paintable caulk. c. Any loose paint must be removed, (preferably scraped or wire brushed), very limited to power washing due to damaging the exterior texture with too high of pressure. d. Loose trim should be re-attached before painting. 2.) Painting: a. All surfaces should be cleaned and free of dust and dirt before painting. b. Recommended 1 coat of exterior elastomeric or (20 mils) of paint. c. All nail holes and cracks should be filled with caulking before painting. d. Shielding, masking, and covering should be provided where needed. 3.) PPE: a. Proper PPE equipment should be worn while work is being performed. b. Any area being painted should be barricaded and workers only in that area allowed. c. “Wet paint” signs should be visible where needed. 4.) Equipment: a. Contractor must furnish all painting supplies. b. Lifts, scaffolds and ladders must be provided by the contractor. 5.) Clean-up: a. Contractor is responsible for any overspray or spills to be cleaned. b. Contractor is responsible for site cleanup at the end of the workdays and on the day of completion.
