The Strategy to Advance Flood protection, Ecosystems Restoration and Recreation along San Francisco Bay (SAFER Bay) Project is a multi-jurisdictional and public-private collaboration to protect communities and critical infrastructure from sea level rise and tidal flooding in the cities of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. Using both engineered structures and nature-based flood protection, the effort consists of a 7.5-mile alignment along the southeast San Francisco Bay shoreline designed to provide a 100-year level of flood protection in addition to 3.5 feet of sea-level rise. The Menlo Park SAFER Bay Project (“Project”) focuses on the 3.7-mile alignment and flood control elements located within the City of Menlo Park (“City”). The City is seeking services for the development of the design, environmental documentation, permitting, public outreach, and construction support for the Project from responsive, responsible, and qualified firms (“Proposers”; “Proposer”).
