The City of Asheville is requesting the submission of qualified contractors to provide and install new air handlers for MU5 on the arena floor and number 5 on the concourse level of the Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville (HCCA). The City of Asheville requires the assistance of a contractor to provide turnkey replacement solutions for the existing air handlers MU5 on the arena level and number 5 on the concourse level of Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville (HCCA). HCCA hosts a wide variety of events and equipment noise can be an issue during events. The noise level of the replacement air handlers needs to be taken into consideration and can not exceed the noise level of the existing air handlers. The project will consist of removing the MU5 Trane air handler located in a mechanical room located on the arena floor level of HCCA and removing air handler number 5 a Trane air handler located in the mechanical room located on the south side of the HCCA concourse and installing a one for one (or as close as possible) air handlers with rating of the existing Trane units. ● Work with HCCA staff on scheduling all phases of project work so the work does not interfere with any scheduled event at HCCA. ● Provide a turnkey air handler replacement for the existing MU5 air handler located on the arena floor level of HCCA. ● Provide any professional crane or rigging services and the cost to be included in the bid. ● Be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits associated with the project and cost of permits to be included in the bid. ● Check the current output CFM of the existing Trane unit and be able to duplicate, increase or reduce the CFM as necessary to cool or heat the space. ● Disconnect and demo the existing Trane air handler. ● Provide a replacement air handler that is belt driven with at least 11900 CFM, minimum o f20hp, 460 volts, 3 phase. ● Provide any electrical modifications, motor stater, circuit circuit breaker, disconnect if the requirements of the new air handler is larger or greater than the existing electrical circuit and electrical equipment ● Disconnect electrical Building Automation System (BAS) control wiring, sensors, piping and duct system required to demo the existing air handler. ● Provide any necessary Lockout and Tagout of electrical services feeding the air handler; coordinate any electrical panel or system shutdown with HCCA staff
