1. Removal of weeds from shrub beds, flowerbeds, and around trees utilizing a herbicide where possible and/or pulling the weeds if application of a herbicide would damage nearby shrubs, flowers or trees. Maintain all beds quarterly to prevent overgrowth of weeds, etc. 2. Apply herbicide to kill grass spots in parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, curbs and gutters. Remove all dead weeds from campuses quarterly. 3. Application of a pre-emergent and maintenance done before March 15 to all mulch beds. 4. Application of a pre-emergent and maintenance done in July to all mulch beds. 5. Application of a pre-emergent and maintenance done in October to all mulch beds. 6. Refresh mulch beds maintenance in January and July or as directed by HCS Staff. 7. Re-mulch all beds bi-annually, preferably in the spring and fall or as requested by HCS, ensuring pre-emergent is applied on top of the new mulch. Application of mulch shall be at a minimum depth of two (2) inches and a maximum depth of four (4) inches. HCS grounds supervisor will continually monitor mulch depth to ensure it remains within the bid specifications. 8. Prune shrubs on a continuing basis to maintain plant profiles and healthy growth. 9. Remove any dead shrubs or plants from beds. Remove any fallen limbs or debris from school property. Add any additional new plants, or shrubs, per HCS request at a cost-plus percentage mark up as noted on the bid pricing sheet. 10. Labor to maintain shrubs and weeds is to be priced and performed on a quarterly basis per the bid sheet and as requested by HCS Staff. Mulch will be invoiced by total cubic yards purchased and pre-emergent will be invoiced by total amount of square footage treated. Shrubs and weeds, mulch and pre-emergent maintenance will be quarterly or as needed but can be billed out monthly.
