The overhaul of the front and rear HVAC Units includes: EVAPORATOR UNITS (2 per car) REPLACE COMPONENTS - The following components shall be replaced with fit/form/function equivalents. A. Evaporator Blower Motor Assy. (i) The blower motors shall be of a design suitable for transit car application, operating from the APS and meeting the applicable requirements of this specification. (ii) Motors and their connections shall be easily accessible for removal and for routine inspection and maintenance from inside the car. (iii) Motor insulation shall be Class H rated. (iv) The motors shall have permanently lubricated ball bearings. B. Evaporator Fan Squirrel Cages (i) Shall be of heavy-duty construction that does not exhibit imbalance/vibration due to normal handling, dirt build-up between scheduled maintenance and cleaning, including dismantling and re-installation (ii) Capable of continuously introducing a minimum of 1,400 cfm total fresh air into the car whenever the HVAC system is energized and the nominal 230 VAC, 3-phase auxiliary power is available. C. Brass Bodied Schrader Valves D. Brass Bodied Service Valves E. Brass Bodied Sight Glasses F. Brass Bodied Moisture Indicators G. All Locknuts and Lock Washers H. All Gaskets and Seals I. All Tie Wraps J. All Ground and safety Straps K. All Bushings and Isolation Mounts L. Klixon Thermostat M. Pressure Differential Switch and tubing N. Fusible Links
