1. Temporary labor to be furnished is of the general labor category. Workers will be raking curbside leaves. 2. Temporary labor will be required for a 5-week period beginning on or about November 4, 2024. 3. Bidder shall be able to provide 5 – 15 laborers as needed for this work and be able to supply more or less within these limits with a 48-hour notice. 4. Bidder must supply transportation to and from Della Bitta Drive, Plantsville, CT, if workers cannot. Start time is 7:00 a.m. The hours of work shall be Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as necessary, and periodic Saturday work from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 5. Bidder shall be responsible for all employment taxes and workers’ compensation insurance (proof of workers’ compensation insurance will be required of the successful bidder). 6. Bidder must drug test and perform a State of Connecticut background check of their temporary employees. 7. If at any time the Town is dissatisfied with a worker, they will be replaced with another by the following work day upon notice to the bidder. 8. Bids are to be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “2024 Leaf Season Temporary Labor Bid.” 9. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any formality associated with the bid as it deems to be in their best interest. 10.Bidder shall provide their current employee protocol and precautionary measures as they relate to COVID-19 (i.e. reporting illness, contact tracing, wearing face coverings, travel restrictions, etc.).
