The Minnesota Department of Commerce intends to purchase the technology solution from Critical Mention that monitors print, broadcast, and social media. Commerce will use this tool to gauge the effectiveness of media relations efforts and to understand the preferences of consumer stakeholders. Commerce will utilize the local and national media contacts database provided by Critical Mention to effectively target message delivery. Critical Mention is the only vendor that provides access to media coverage on paywall websites without a separate paid subscription to those websites due to its partnership with LexisNexis. Additionally – Critical Mention is the only vendor to provide one integrated interface that includes all media channels instead of separate interfaces by channel.
