• Prepare Health and Safety Plan as specified in HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES and SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. Prepare and submit work plan(s) as specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. Install security fencing, temporary erosion and sedimentation controls as shown on Contract Drawings ES-1 and ES-2 and specified in ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PROCEDURES AND CONTROLS and TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL. • Remove and recycle existing asphalt pavement section from Pennrose Phase I area (2.3-acres)(assumed upper 6-inches). • Pre-survey the boundaries of PCB Areas 5 and 6, as shown on Contract Drawing REA1. Excavate PCB-impacted material from Areas 5 and 6 per EPA SIP Approval and as shown on Contract Drawings REA-1 and REA-2 and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. Stockpile PCB-impacted material for offsite disposal as specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. Assist Owner’s representative to perform post-excavation soil sampling and analyses to verify the removal of the PCBs. • Profile, load, transport, and dispose of PCB-impacted material from Areas 5 and 6, in accordance with the EPA SIP approval and specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT and TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL OF SOIL AND FILL (PCBs < 50 ppm). • Excavate soils above RSRs at well NMW-4 located on the Naugatuck Train Station Parcel as shown on Contract Drawings REA-1 and REA-2 and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. Stockpile material for offsite disposal as specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. Backfill with clean common fill compacted to 95% as shown on Contract Drawing REA-3 and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. • Profile, load, transport, and dispose of soils above RSRs from NMW-4 area as specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT and TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL OF SOIL AND FILL. • Excavate fill material from the proposed Pennrose building footprint in compliance with asbestos Alternative Work Practice (AWP) approval as shown on Contract Drawings FBP-1 and FBP-2, and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. Segregate fill material per Contract Drawing SFC. Stockpile fill material as specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. • Crush the concrete and masonry material per Contract Drawing SFC. Combine/blend the crushed concrete and masonry with excavated soil to create structural fill. Install the structural fill in the PCB excavations and footprint of the proposed Pennrose building and compact to 95% as shown on Contract Drawing FBP-3 and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. Do not stockpile material in excess of 3,750 cubic yards at any one time. • Excavate fill material from the landscaping, planting, and footing areas as shown on Contract Drawings FLA-1, CF-1, and CF-2 and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. Segregate fill material per Contract Drawing SFC. Stockpile fill material as specified in SOIL AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. • Crush the concrete and masonry material generated from landscaping, planting, and footing areas per Contract Drawing SFC. Combine/blend the crushed concrete and masonry material with soils to create common fill as specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING. Install the common fill in the utility excavations and compact to 93-95% as shown on Contract Drawings FLA-2, CF-3, and CF-4 and specified in EXCAVATION, BACKFILL, COMPACTION AND GRADING.
