The City seeks proposals to create a multi-amenity destination that will offer broad economic and community benefits to the residents of West Haven. In their submissions, Respondents must describe in detail their redevelopment concept for the property, which concept may include (1) demolition or remediation and rehabilitation of the building, and/or (2) construction of one or more new buildings. The City also seeks in particular to receive proposals that contain elements emphasizing Respondents’ visions of environmental compatibility and sustainability. The Conference Center’s location on Long Island Sound, adjacent to the Savin Rock Boardwalk and near to the city’s many beaches, provides an opportunity to generate pedestrian- and cycling-accessible uses and activities that will contribute to West Haven’s quality of life.
